Return To Peace : PM Urges NW Elite To Stand Up

He offered a dinner in honour of North West parliamentarians joined by other members of the elite in Yaounde on April 11, 2022.
The quest for the return to peace and development in the North West Region united the region’s Senators, Members of the National Assembly from both the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), opposition Social Democratic Front (SDF), cabinet ministers and other prominent elite around the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on April 11, 2022.
This was during the maiden dinner Prime Minister Dion Ngute and his wife offered to the North West parliamentarians at his Lake side residence. The purpose of the event, Dion Ngute said was, “ to commune with you, assure you parliamentarians of the great concern of the Head of State, President Paul Biya has for the people of the North West Region and this in order that with the grassroots support you enjoy, we can together chart better ways of bringing our people together focusing on our problems and collectively seeking solutions towards our development.” The Prime Minister cited the terrible effects of the crisis in the region to include some towns and villages that were inaccessible. He mentioned the suffering by the four pillars of the economic growth of the region such as micro-finance industry, agro-industry, education industry and medical and hospitality industries. He rejoiced that with joint efforts, “we can begin to see light at the end of the tunnel.” He cited the Bamenda-Ekok road that is functioning despite some difficulties, recently opened Kumbo-Ndu road, towns that have seen their economic activities resume and increasing daily, traffic established between West and North West Regions, Bamenda-Babadjou and Bamenda Ring Road projects. “We are seeing communities like Oku gathering to dissociate themselves from the separatist fighters.” He stated that, “peace is fast returning to the North West” and urged, &...
