Elite One : Struggling Coton Secures Another Win

Coton Sport of Garoua surprisingly thrashed Bamboutos of Mbouda by 2-0 in a delayed day eight match that took place at the Middle Farms Stadium in Bota, Limbe yesterday Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Since the start of this year's Elite One Football Season, Coton Sport of Garoua has not been in good form. Before the match, Coton Sport was on the ninth position with eight points out of 12 teams in Pool A of the Elite One League. Bamboutos of Mbouda which has not been doing badly was on the sixth position with 11 points. Thus Coton Sport's winning yesterday took the team up the classification table to 11 points, the same point range as Bamboutos.
When the Central Referee, Bikim Elouga, sounded his whistles for the start of the match at 3:30 p.m., Bamboutos responded with a very impressive show of form. Their playing was marked with good passes, better ball control and scintillating dribbles. But all these ended at nothing as they ended the first half on a zero all tie.
