North West Regional Assembly : Canadian High Commissioner Presented Dev’t Plan

Richard Bale and the North West Regional Council President discussed partnerships that build peace, promote development in the region.
The Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Richard Bale has committed to discuss the North West Regional Development Plan hoping that it's options and programmes will attract partners to enhance the development of the region and fast- tract a return to normalcy in the face of the ongoing socio-political crisis rocking the North West and South West Regions. Visiting the Regional Executive Council on April 22, 2022, Richard Bale recognised efforts by the government that give meaning to decentralisation and inspired dialogue by Cameroonian stakeholders to develop local solutions to end the crisis with the assistance of the Canadian government. The diplomat said his outing in Bamenda helps matters in engaging with local stakeholders to better understand and target assistance and greater humanitarian support.
It was a rare moment for the Pioneer North West Regional Assembly to present their vision and ambitions. It is against this backdrop that the President of the Regional Executive Council, Prof. Fru Angwafo III featured the Region's Development Plan covering territorial perspectives, development options and programmes in a region with massive, untapped potentials in trade, commerce, agriculture, livestock, minerals, human capital and a strong civil society. Prof. Fru Angwafo III told the diplomat that infrastructural development, social services, governance and administration are cornerstones of the Plan which requires over FCFA 160 billion to achieve for the advancement of the land of Fons. ...
