Human Rights: 2021 Report Submitted For Endorsement

Minister Jean De Dieu Momo presided at the opening of the validation workshop for the report prepared by the Ministry of Justice on May 4, 2022.
Cameroon’s human rights report for 2021 has been prepared by the Ministry of Justice through the Department of Human Rights and International Cooperation and submitted for approval. The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice, Jean De Dieu Momo presided at the opening of the validation workshop of the report on May 4, 2022 whose objective is to enhance the form and substance of the document.
The report, the Minister stated, is a continuation of a tradition adopted by the Ministry since 2005 to give visibility on the protection and promotion of human rights by authorities. Prepared by national and international partners following an inclusive and participatory approach, the report, Minister Jean De Dieu Momo said, highlights salient points considered in ensuring the respect of human rights, and also serves as an instrument for measuring the path covered.
On the form of the report, he noted that it is divided into three parts preceded by a general introduction and a preliminary chapter and are followed by a general conclusion. The first part of the report focuses on civil and political rights, that is, rights to communication and participating in public affairs. Economic, social and cultural rights are analysed in the second part of the report. This includes amongst others the right to education, health, leisure and a safe environment.
