Handling Disputes North West : PIC Sensitizes Communities On Modalities

Complaint procedures, rights and obligations, scope amongst others were priority at education and information campaign at Bamenda I municipality on may 13,2022.

Convinced that the public is yet to fully understand the goodness of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC), an institution that is a plus in the context of the Special Status for the North West Region, the PIC has kick- started sensitization and education campaigns. The PIC mission, vision, scope of action, complaint procedures, rights and obligations, core values, were at the center of interaction between the PIC team, Councilors and quarter heads of the Bamenda I municipality on May 13, 2022. The office of the Public Independent Conciliator, officially launched activities in the North West Region in January 2022 and users in Bamenda I Subdivision were told that the PIC is a product of the law with a mission to ensure fairness of the relationship between regional and local council entities and the population as well as individual beneficiaries of their actions and activities. Amicable settlement of disputes was the key message during the campaign. 
PIC team members, Ndi Nelson, Ephraim Banda Ghogumu, Dr. Alfred Wuku Kudi and Nina Ambuban featured presentations on PIC complaint procedures, rights and obligations of citizens within Council areas. It emerged from the interaction that the PIC is building solid channels of local governance for sustainable peace and development.
