AFCON 2023 Qualifiers : Beginners Seeking To Shine

Christopher Wooh and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are expected to bring an added impetus in the den.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon continue with preparations ahead of the first round qualifier against the Swallows of Burundi. The match will take place at the Benjamin Mpaka Stadium in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on Monday June 9, 2022. Less than a week to the encounter the coach and the players are making final touches in their hideout in Yaounde in order to avoid any errors. For the AFCON 2023 qualifying tournament, two debutants have joined the Lions’ den.  
Christopher Maurice Wooh who plays for Lens, France will make his debut in the Indomitable Lions team. For the young defender it is a dream come true as that had been his wish since from childhood. The young defender was called up for the Indomitable Lion’s team after he caught the attention of the head coach Rigobert during his performance during the 2021-2022 season. Christopher Wooh has represented France in the U17 category and has played 16 matches last season at Lens. It is believed the he will bring an added impetus to the national team. His said his dream is to prove his worth to the technical bench and the fans during the qualifiers in order to secure his place in the national team. 
Former Spurs man, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has equally switched from French to Cameroon nationality, and thus, finds himself in the mix. Georges-Kevin Nkoudou began training with the rest of the team on Tuesday May 31, 2022. At 27 the new Indomitable Lion arrived in the national team for the first time.
