Camtel Volleyball Championship : Port Douala, Bafia Volleyball Emerge Champions

The finals of the prestigious competition took place at the auditorium of the National advanced School of Public Works in Yaounde on Sunday June 5, 2022.
Port Volleyball Club of Douala (men) and Bafia Volleyball Evolution (women) are the winners of the 2022 edition of the Camtel Volleyball Championship. The finals of the prestigious competition took place at the auditorium of the National advanced School of Public Works in Yaounde on Sunday June 5, 2022. Thousands of supporters in Yaounde thronged the Public Works School campus to watch the event. It was an opportunity for Yaounde inhabitants to discover new techniques in the sport and for other young aspirants to develop interest in the sport.
In the men’s final, Port Douala outplayed Cameroon Sports 3-0 sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) in a thrilling encounter that lasted for one hour. Port Douala who had just returned from the African Club Winners’ Cup competition had an easy ride over their opponents. Cameroun Sports Volley on their part fought hard with talented and courageous strikers and they even made some progress in the second and third sets. In the women’s competition, Bafia Volleyball Evolution beat FAP Volleyball 3-2 sets (25-18, 25-22, 25-22, 28-26, 15-8) in a though encounter. The final was a remake of last year’s final between the two teams. The winners; Port Douala and Bafia Volleyball Evolution were rewarded the sum of FCFA 1.5 million each while FAP Vollyball and Cameroon Sports got FCFA 500,000.
