South West Regional Assembly : Renders Stewardship

From the FCFA 2,753,347,000 budget realized, 75.04 per cent was committed in 2021 for amenities to satisfy widespread population needs.

Three items on the agenda pulled the South West Regional Assembly to meet in their last Wednesday, 1 June, 2022 session. The venue was the Buea Mountain Hotel and flanking the Assembly President, Zacheus Elango Bakoma, was the South West Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia as the State representative. Going by the menu, it was the moment to examine the administrative accounts of the Assembly’s authorizing officer who is President Bakoma, the management accounts of the Regional Treasurer, and the stores accounts of the Stores Accountant.
In his preliminary address, the Regional President, Zacheus Elango Bakoma, facing the Assembly explained that the 2021 budget for the South West Regional Assembly stood at 2,753,347,000 chiefly from State subsidies except the FCFA 3,347,000 proceeds from sales of regional project tenders. However, from the budget earmarked, only FCFA 2,253,347,000 was put at the disposal of the Regional Assembly giving an effective revenue percentage of 81.84 budget realization for 2021. In actual terms, FCFA 687,319,863 was not spent counting as excess.
