South West : Class Six Pupils Seek FSLC, CEP

The examination which complete learning in primary school started on June 14, 2022 and ended yesterday in the entire region.
Class six pupils in both English and French subsystems of education dropped curtains yesterday on First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and “Certificate d’Etudes Primaires” (CEP) examinations. The examinations opened on June 14, 2022, across the South West Region in the 31centres for FSLC which were stratified to 142 sub-centres. CEP had five centres and were written in seven sub centres mainly in Buea, Kumba, Tombel, Wabane, Limbe and Mamfe. FSLC registered 23 311 candidates in the entire South West Region and CEP had 494 candidates.
As early as 8 am, Elangwe Rose Bume, South West Regional Delegate for Basic Education, was in Tiko where she supervised the examinations. She visited Catholic Primary School Mutengene where 567 candidates took the examination while three candidates were absent. In Government Primary School Mutengene Group II, there were two absences of the 459 that were in the examination halls. In G.S Upper Costains, a candidate from G.S Wum in the North West Region (name withheld) was permitted to write.
Voh Armstrong, Divisional Officer for Tiko Subdivision, had mobilized security to ensure a hitch-free examination session in his area of command. He visited all the writing centres and supervised the examination. “We have gone from centre to centre and globally the candidates themselves are without any tension. The examination started smoothly in the Tiko Subdivision and we hope it will round off successfully’’ he said.
