Mamfe District Hospital Arson : Presidential Couple Assists Displaced Patients

Material assistance and words of comfort have been directed to the patients who were displaced from the Mamfe District Hospital in the night of 8th breaking 9th June, 2022. The delegation leader, Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency, Victor Arrey Mengot, presented the over FCFA 80 million medical equipment donated by the Presidential couple, Paul and Chantal Biya to the Mamfe Health services as emergency assistance following the burning of the Mamfe hospital. Other gifts came from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and the elite of Manyu Division. Such gifts included soap, toiletries, bags of rice, blankets, and buckets for water. The Ministry of Public Health sent medical equipment for theater, and laboratory worth FCFA 79.860.000.
The South West Regional Assembly offered some FCFA 14.900.000 worth of materials to add to the donations made by the elite of Manyu from far and near. The gifts were handed to the Medical Officials with the patients last Saturday 18 June, 2022, in Mamfe, headquarters of Manyu Division, by a delegation led by Minister Mengot amidst a host of local authorities.
