The team that is playing the WAFCON for the second time will be seeking to go pass South Africa today July 14, 2022 in Rabat and qualify for the semis.
The Bayana Bayana of South Africa plays the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia today July 14, 2022 at Stade Prince Moulay Al Hassan in Rabat. The quarterfinal game of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) starts at 9 p.m. While the Bayana Bayana will be struggling to defend their name as one of the favourites, Tunisia will be hoping to make history as they participate in the competition for the second time.
The 2018 finalist South Africa, comes into this game as one of two sides that won all their group stage games, amassing nine points. Even without one of their best strikers, Thembi Kgatlana, who is out of the tournament due to injury, South Africa are favourites in this game and have all what it takes to come pass Tunisia. Coach Desiree Ellis can count on Captain Refiloe Jane, Linda Motlhalo and Andile Dlamini. These are players that have been bringing experience and exposure into the team’s setup and should worry the Tunisians.
