Misaje : Holiday Tournament Gathering Steam

A holiday football tournament ongoing in Misaje Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region, sponsored by an elite of the area, Minister Fuh Calistus Gentry is gaining momentum. Dubbed the Misaje Sport Empowerment Programme, MISEP 2022, the initiative comprises of a holiday football tournament and the creation of an Athletics Club.  
The football competition which was launched on July 17, 2022 at the Government Bilingual High School, GBHS, Misaje football field began with 16 teams drawn in four pools along the axis of the four major communities of the Subdivision; Nchaney, Besaah, Misaje and Dumbu.  Some 24 matches were played at the group stage and a man of the match was picked from each game for a prize money of FCFA 5,000. 
The tournament, it should be said, is serving as a catalyst for peace in the area which is experiencing relative calm despite the restive nature of the North West Region in general. Apart from keeping youth occupied during this holiday period, Fuh Calistus Gentry, who is also Secretary of State in the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development wants to help young talents from his area of origin to have careers in sports.
