Douala I : Oumarou Michel Urged To Be Proactive

This was during his installation presided at by the SDO of Wouri on August 4.

The new Divisional Officer for the Douala I subdivision has been installed in to his function. He was installed on August 4 in Douala with a call to vigilance and proactiveness. The civil administrator Oumarou Michel is taking over Douala I at a time when urban disorder and uncivil behavior is the order of the day. While installing him, the Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri, Benjamin Mboutou, urged the new DO to be vigilant and proactive. 
He instructed him to ensure that there is law and order within the subdivision. "You have to work for the economic, social and cultural development of the Douala I subdivision. You must work with the traditional leaders, quarter heads and all the living forces to maintain peace", the SDO insisted.
He was also advised to settle land disputes amicably and ensure that living together is a reality. Benjamin Mboutou reminded the new DO that Douala I is the seat of administration of the Littoral region as such he has to work tirelessly to ensure that all is in order. "You have to fight against the consumption of drugs, excessive consumption of alcohol, banditry in neigbourhoods like Akwa, Deido, Nkongmondo, Bonapriso and other...
