GWES Falcon Award 2022 : Organisers Earmark Strategies

A cocktail party to prepare ahead of the upcoming edition took place in Yaounde recently 2022.
From time immemorial sports have always been a male dominated affair, leaving women who find themselves in different sports discipline not being recognized despite their efforts. Most women in sports around the world are faced with challenges such a discrimination, sexual harassment and abuses of all sorts, rape as well as structural, biological and institutional barriers. As a result of these challenges, most of them give up their sporting careers out of frustration.
It is in this light that a cocktail party took place in Yaounde on July recently. The cocktail evening was organised by the Global Women Emancipation in Sports Association (GWES). The purpose of the cocktail was an opportunity for the members to present the activities of the association for the year and also prepare ahead of the GWES Falcons Award that will take place in Yaounde from November 25 to December 10, 2022, International Conference on Women’s Sports in Auckland-New Zealand and celebrations of the International Day of Women Sports in January 2023.
The President of GWES Association, Victorine Fomum said the aim of the Association is to help women and young girls to practice their sports career well. Created in 2017, GWES has as objective to promote sports in women, encourage young girls to practice sports...
