Encouraging School Resumption In Tombel: Minister Elung Donates Didactic Materials

The gesture of the Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic is in line with efforts to sustain peace and return to full schooling activities in the locality.
Pupils and students in Tombel sub-division, Kupe Muanenguba Division in the South West Region were on Friday August 26 beaming with smiles as they received school materials from the Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency, Elung Paul Che. The event to handover the didactic materials to the beneficiaries was massively attended by pupils, students, parents and elite. Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister’s representative, Ivo Ebage, who is Private Secretary to the Minister, told beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials donated by an illustrious elite. He said his boss was happy with the impressive school attendance in Tombel during the last academic year but wants more this year. Reason he opted to organize free holiday classes for pupils and students in Tombel as well as donate school materials such as exercise books and school bags to pupils and students in the subdivision. The Minister’s envoy reminded the pupils and students that education remains the foundation of life and a guarantee for a better future.
On the need to rehabilitate vandalized school structures, he said efforts are being made by the government citing the case of GHS Nyasoso with ongoing renovation works.
To the Divisional Officer of Tombel, Nyam Leonard who chaired the event, classes started in most villages in the subdivision last year with outstanding results in end-of-course examinations. “Since 2017 when classes were disrupted in the area, the ardent determination of most elite championed by Minister Elung to see classes resume effectively has remained a top priority,” the DO said.
