Improving SMEs : Agri Processing Project Evaluated

This was during a one-day meeting that took place in Douala on September 1, 2022.
Stakeholders in the TRANSFAGRI project chain have met in Douala to look for better ways to assist small and medium-size enterprises in the agricultural transformation sector to promote the made-in Cameroon brand. The project sponsored by the French Development Agency is aimed at providing capacity building to Small and medium size enterprises in the Agricultural transformation sector in six different basins in Cameroon. The meeting in Douala brought together stakeholders in the Littoral and South West basin. The project executed by the Small and Medium Size Promotion Agency known by its French acronym as AMPE went operational in 2019 and lasted for three years.
According to the General Manager of the AMPE, Jean Marie Badga, they are out to promote Small and medium size enterprises in the agro transformation sector in the domain of capacity building. He said the TRANSFAGRI project sponsored by French Development Agency was launched in 2019 to assist SMEs in the agricultural transformation sector. But they were looking forward to involve SMEs in different domains.
