2022 FIFA World Cup : Sports Minister Welcomes Trophy

Within the framework of activities marking the 2022 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca Cola in Cameroon, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has welcomed the prestigious jewel in the land of the Indomitable Lions. The trophy which landed at the Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport in the morning of yesterday September 8, 2022 for a two-day tour, was later on unveiled to the Minister by FIFA’s legend, former French footballer, David Trezeguet in a ceremony after midday at the Sports Ministry. It was in the presence of other key stakeholders from FIFA, Coca Cola and the Ministry.
Talking at the start of the ceremony, the Sports Minister said he was honoured to receive the trophy in Cameroon and audibly nursed the hope of seeing the cup come back to Africa’s miniature at the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup expedition in Qatar. The Minister ended his word with the popular French expression that “impossible n’est pas Camerounais”, as if to tell the world that he believes in the Indomitable Lions’ capability of making history at the upcoming global showpiece.
