School Resumption : Douala II Schools Received Package

Public and faith-based schools in the Douala II Subdivision have received didactic and hygiene and sanitation materials to begin the school year in earnest. The minimum package that was offered by the Douala II council on Friday, September 2nd will go a long way to improve the teaching and learning conditions in these schools during this 2022/2023 academic year.
In accordance with Decree No. 2010/0247/PM of February 26, 2010, setting the terms of the exercise of certain powers transferred by the State to the councils in terms of basic education in its article 5 which provides that the municipal councils participate in the acquisition of materials and school supplies necessary for the operation of public schools, the Douala II council every year makes available to the head teachers of government schools within the municipality. Reasons why the council has offered teaching materials, sports, pharmaceuticals, and hygiene equipment to enable them to start the school year serenely.
While handing over the materials, the mayor of the Douala II council Denise Fampou, acknowledged that it was the council’s responsibility to ensure that children study in the best possible conditions.
