How is the Popular Action Party (PAP) faring on the field?
The Popular Action Party (PAP) is faring pretty well. In fact the party is gaining grounds as the days go by in all the 10 Regions of the country and in the diaspora. As I speak to you now, we have a minimum of 10 persons per day requesting the PAP membership, talk less of those sending their appreciation, encouragement and admiration.
What are the major activities of the party?
PAP without mixing my words has been the only political party since 2017 that has been very consistent doing ground work and mobilization, especially in the restive two English- speaking Regions that happens to be our bastion of support. That notwithstanding, we as well partner with other political parties and organizations to get to other regions. Recently we were in the East, Adamawa, North and the Far North Regions for a broad base sensitization campaign. We are also carrying out regular workshop programmes to empower the youths and women into politics, as well as the need to have themselves registered in the electoral list. Irrespective of our limited financial resources, we do our best to reach out to some internally displaced persons to offer some material and financial assistance. I think for now our principal objective is doing ground work mobilization.
Many political parties are embarked on the reorganisation of their basic organs and also holding national congresses. What is PAP doing to revitalise and reinvigorate its structures?
As you can see, PAP is the major political party that has really been affected by this ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions, thereby really destabilizing the party's structures.
