Development Projects : World Bank Financing Discussed

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute received the World Bank Regional Director of Infrastructure for West and Central Africa, Franz Drees-Gross on September 16, 2022.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on September 16, 2022 granted an audience to the World Bank Regional Director of Infrastructure for West and Central Africa, Franz Drees-Gross during which they discussed financing development projects in Cameroon. The World Bank official was on a visiting visit to Cameroon from September 12 to 17, 2022 and met with several stakeholders as concerns the financing of development projects.
Franz Drees-Gross in his statement to the press said discussions with the Prime Minister were on three sectors; telecommunications, road transport and particularly the energy sector. “We gave him (referring to the Prime Minister) an overview of the discussions we have had since Tuesday, September 13, 2022. While in Cameroon, we have visited the Nachtigal Hydroelectric dam project which is now 70 per cent complete. We discussed the connection of that hydro project to the network and also the interconnection of the Chadian network. You know Chad has three separate electricity networks; the north, south and east networks. We will be financing a transmission network to connect the south and the north, and then go onwards to the connection to Chad,” he explained.
