Badminton Cup of Cameroon : Laeticia Akoumba Ze Lifts Trophy

The 2022 edition of the competition took place at the National Institute of Youth and Sports in Yaounde on Sunday September 18, 2022.
The gymnasium of the National Institute of Youth and Sports was the venue of the 2022 edition of the Badminton Cup of Cameroon that ended in Yaounde on Sunday September 18, 2022. Organised by the Cameroon Badminton Federation (FECABAD), the competition brought together 70 athletes from seven regions in the country. These are the Far North, North, Littoral, South West, East, West and Centre regions.
The Cup of Cameroon competition was an opportunity for Yaounde inhabitants to discover new techniques in the sport. It equally marked the end of sports season in badminton in Cameroon. The competition unfolded in the singles, doubles and mixt categories. In the women’s singles, Laetitia Madeleine Akoumba Ze emerged overall winner beating Anamba Maeva 2-1 sets in the final. It was no longer a surprise to the player of Amazonnes FAP Badminton Club as that was not her first title. She has always dominated the women’s singles competition during the past years. Akoumba Ze represented Cameroon in the Commonwealth Games and other major international competitions. In the mixed doubles, the pair Akoumba Ze and Owona Ndimako was the winners.
