Disarmament Committee: Gender Strategy In Gestation

The National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee (DDR) and UN-Women are heightening consultations towards the validation of the gender strategy of the DDR that will better facilitate care for the needs of women under the control of the committee. One of such consultation sessions was the audience the National Coordinator of the National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee, Fai Yengo Francis granted the interim representative of UNWomen to Cameroon, Mvondo Arlette who also doubles as the Regional Adviser for Violence Against Women in the UN institution on September 27, 2022. It emerged from the discussions that the DDR Gender Strategy will be validated in a ceremony on October 11, 2022 after which its operational phase will start.
