Economic Growth : Commonwealth Clamour For Opportunities

Visiting chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council was in Douala on October 12 to avail himself of the different business opportunities.


It was a great deal for the chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (Cweic), Lord Jonathan Peter Marland who paid a one-day working visit to the economic capital of Douala on October 12. While in Douala, the chairman visited the Douala port authority (PAD), and also met with some business tycoons as while as heads of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. The exchanges at each stop were also a great moment for the Cameroonian business community to present the opportunities available and to declare its readiness to do business with the Commonwealth.
While at the PAD, Lord Jonathan Peter Marland took time off to follow a video projection on the 2050 development plan of the port, which will transform it into a modern port that will meet up with the challenges of time. He also received first-hand information on the various security checks in place to ensure safety at the port. Be it the Director General of PAD, Cyrus Ngo’o or the Director General of the National Shippers Council, Auguste Mbappe Penda, all presented some challenges and opportunities available.
