CAF Champions League : Group Stage Teams Known

 
The teams to take part in the group stage of the CAF African Champions League are now known. This is the outcome of return leg games of the second round preliminaries of the CAF Champions League that ended on Sunday October 16, 2022 in stadiums across the continent. In Morocco, defending champions, Wydad Casablanca once proved their superiority after they beat Rivers United of Nigeria 6-0. The victory came as a sigh of relief for the Moroccans who were beaten 2-1 in the first leg by Rivers United. The Moroccans have now joined the group of big qualifiers.  
Horoya of Guinea have equally qualified for the group stage of the competition. It was not an easy task for the Guineans who won the first leg against ASEC Mimosas 1-0 in Côte d’Ivoire last week. Horoya played a 1-1 draw against ASEC Mimosas at home to secure a ticket for the group stage of the competition. Simbas SC of Tanzania are another great to have joined the group of qualifiers. The Tanzanians picked their qualifying ticket on Sunday October 16 after beating Primero Augusto of Angola 1-0. In the first leg a week ago, they had also beaten the Angolans 4-1. 
Coton Sport of Garoua and Al-Hilal of Sudan have equally qualified for the group stage of the CAF Champions League. Coton Sport beat Royal Leopards of Eswatini 2-1 in the return leg in Garoua on Sunday October 16. In the first leg, the two teams were held in a 1-1 draw...
