Tough Opponents For Cameroon

Following the draw for the first-ever Intercontinental Play-off tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup that took place recently, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon were placed in group A with Thailand and Portugal. From all indications, Cameroon’s adversaries appear to be tough making it challenging for the Lionesses to go through. Cameroon will have to beat Thailand before facing top seeds Portugal. The play offs for the FIFA Women’s World Cup will take place in Australia and New Zealand from 18 to 27 February.  The Indomitable Lionesses are seeking for their third qualification for the World Cup. To qualify they will have to go past Thailand who are equally seeking for a third appearance for the World Cup. Like Cameroon, Thailand was at the World Cup in 2015 and 2019. 
The match between Thailand and Cameroon will not be an easy one as it will be like a semi-final. Looking at the potentials of the two teams, Thailand is better placed as compared to Cameroon. Thailand is on the 41st spot on the recent FIFA Rankings whereas Cameroon is on the 58th spot. Cameroon will have to beat Thailand to face Portugal. The match will determine which team will play the final.
