South West : 25 Students, Pupils Awarded Prizes For Academic Excellence

Some 25students and pupils have received prizes for excellent academic performances at the end-of-course examinations. The event to award the laureates took place on Thursday October 13 in Bangem, chief town of Kupe Muanenguba Division in the presence of the First Assistant SDO and the Divisional Officer of Bangem, Felix Kanga, as well as municipal and educational authorities.  
The best performing students and pupils selected from various schools with the help of Secondary and Basic Education officials in Kupe Muanenguba received the excellence awards consisting of cash prize ranging between FCFA 10,000 to FCFA 25,000. Highest performing schools in terms of numbers and quality of pass at end-of-course examinations also got didactic materials. The Mayor’s prize (FCFA 25,000) for the best female students in sciences was also awarded. 
“Secondary and Basic Education authorities in Kupe Muanguba designated the highest performing students in Arts, Sciences and Technical learning and best overall science students at the Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations for the award,” Dr Ephraim Diabe Abwe told this reporter in a telephone conversation.
