Empowerment : IDPs Trained in ICT

The training programme that started in September will last till November 30, 2022.


Some internally displaced boys and girls living in Bonaberi are currently undergoing training on Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The three months training programme that started in September will last till November 30th, 2022. The training which is offered free of charge is been carried out by the Peace Watch Non-Governmental Organisation in partnership with the Youth multipurpose centre of the Douala IV.
The programme that was initially meant for IDP girls now has also accommodated some boys who showed interest in ICT. According to the founder of the peace watch, NGO Jonson Ebigwe, the programme is out to give the IDPs basics in ICT which can permit them to run a documentation business which will permit them to generate income to take care of themselves.
He added that the programme was initially for girls but they realised that when they launched the programme some IDP boys showed up and they decided to admit them.
