Canon Yaounde are appearing to be on the downward trend. Some day three matches of the national Elite One championship took place in stadiums across the country on Saturday October 29, 2022. In Yaounde, Canon Sportif of Yaounde played a 0-0 tie with Eding Sport of Lekié in a thrilling encounter at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium. Both teams struggled to score on several occasions without any success. It was the third match and third draw for Canon Yaounde since the start of the season in group A.  Canon needs to be more impactful and efficient during the fourth playing match against UMS of Loum. Two of the players on the Canon side who played their first minutes this season made a good impression. They are Jourdain Mbaynassem, former goalkeeper of Astres of Douala and Emmanuel Mahop, a defector from the Equatoguinean club Akonangui FC. The Yaounde club now has three points after three playing days. 
Canon’s striker, Emmanuel Mahop said it was a good game. He was happy with his performance and he has been able to help his performance He said he did not score on Saturday but he believes he will make it in the next matches. Prince Junior Sime of Eding Sport said all is not lost yet but the he and his team mates will continue to work hard to improve on their perfomance in the next matches. In group B, Dragon of Yaounde drew 0-0 with Fauve Azur of Yaounde at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium. In Mbouda, Bamboutos beat Fovu 1-0 at the Mbouda Municipal Stadium.
