National Communication Council : Prof. Enoh Tanjong Is No More

The well known figure in the media circles to have started the department of Journalism and Mass Communication in the University of Buea passed on Saturday October 29, 2022.
Media practitioners in Cameroon especially those trained at the department of Journalism and Mass Communication in the University of Buea woke up on Saturday October 29, 2022, to the sad news of the demise of their former trainer, Prof Enoh Tanjong. He died in Yaounde and his mortal remains is presently laying at the Buea Regional Hospital Mortuary pending funeral arrangement. At his Mekongi (Sand Pit) resident, his wife, Dr. Becky Tanjong, was inconsolable. They have been married for 33 years with their union having four children and five grandchildren.
Prof. Enoh Tanjong was a seasoned expert in communication with over 30 years of experience in journalism and mass communication training, media and audience research and consultancies on development communication and news assessment. He authoured many books, book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, worked as a Fulbright Scholar in residence and served on the boards of many reputable global organizations. In 1993, he started the department of Journalism and Mass Communication in the University of Buea where he was the pioneer Head of Department and served for 12 years. Then was Vice Dean in charge of Programmes and Academic Affairs until 2017 at the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. On October 10, 2020 Prof. Enoh Tanjong clocked 65, officially retired from the University of Buea.
