Presidential Reconstruction Plan : Farmers Receive Agricultural Inputs

Beneficiary farmers from Bafut acknowledge that farm inputs from the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), are impacting their livelihoods.

The Subdivisional Officer of Bafut, Forku Njukeng Andelys on November 1, 2022, received a message of gratitude from some beneficiary farmers on the social cohesion and economic recovery pillars of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions. The representative of farmers, Gilbert Kong saluted the Head of State for the initiative which has impacted their farming activities since they received table birds, tractors, feed mixers, vaccines, drinkers, tricycles etc from the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP. The gesture, according to the farmers, is a blessing at a moment when many farmers are suffering, in the face of the ongoing socio- political and security challenges rocking the region. They pledged to maximize the use of the farm inputs to enhance economic growth and livelihood. They equally appealed to the Head of State to strengthen the agriculture and livestock sectors in Bafut with improved farm-to-market roads, maintenance of the National Road No.  11, creation of an agricultural and equipment pool in the community and opportunities to develop and market produce from the area.  It emerged from the event that some 70 farmers in the Subdivision   have so far, benefitted from the social cohesion and economic recovery pillars of the Reconstructi...
