Electricity, Water, Telephone Services : Assurances For Improved Steady Supply

The Prime Minister, Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute during an inter-ministerial meeting on November 17, 2022 gave instructions to the operators to ensure optimal supply.
Operators in the water, electricity supply and the telecommunications services sectors have assured the public of the improved and steady supply of the items following measures they have taken in the face of noticeable supply interruptions. They assured that there will be optimal supply of electricity, water and telephone services during the just-to-start FIFA World Cup competition and upcoming end-of-year celebrations.
The operators gave the assurances at the Star Building on November 17, 2022 while talking to the press after an inter-ministerial meeting the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute presided at aimed at evaluating the offer of services to consumers in the domain of goods and services that have high social impact on the population. The meeting brought together the Prime Minister’s close aides, Ministers under whose competences the ssectors fall and operators in the water, electricity and telecommunications sectors.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng said they received the instructions of the Prime Minister to ensure the optimal supply of the telephone and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services. She used the occasion to state that there was standby team to intervene at anytime there are pertubations in telephone and ICT network, explaining that some of the causes of disruptions are external.
Concerning electricity supply, the General Manager of ENEO Cameroon, Patrick Eeckelers said they have put in place a task force that does a weekly evaluation of the power supply on the ground and takes necessary actions.
