Cameroon National Prayer Breakfast : Christians, Politicians Pray For Peace, Unity

One of the banquet halls of the Yaounde Hilton Hotel was transformed into a prayer arena yesterday November 17, 2022. As early as 7:00 a.m, Christians, politicians, government ministers, entrepreneurs and people from different walks of life in Cameroon, South Africa and other countries had gathered to pray for Cameroon, Africa and the world at large. This was within the framework of the 13th edition of the Cameroon National Prayer Breakfast under the theme, “Unity of the Nation, a Requirement of God for Salvation,” drawn from the biblical books of Psalm 133:1-3 and Mark 3:23-27.
Before the prayer session, the Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne, in a sermon edified the congregation on three topics; The Praise of Brotherly Love, The Demands of the Nation as a Mutual Project and God’s Blessing as consequence of unity. Brothers, the Man of God said, cannot praise God when they are not in peace and harmony, for praise prepares fertile grounds for more blessings. He further said that a nation is a common project to its citizens. Living together and the feeling of belonging together can no longer be overemphasised. The feeling of belonging to the Cameroonian nation according to the Executive President of CBC, should lead each person to want to stay together, thus eliminating factors that threaten national unity. He underscored that Cameroon is a common heritage that must be preserved. Rev. Nditemeh concluded that a divided kingdom cannot survive, a divided family cannot stand and a divided nation will certainly disappear by self-destruction. He made an urgent call to each Cameroonian to be artisans of pace and national concord.
After the sermon, the congregation took over 30 minutes to pray for Cameroon, Africa and the world at large. Pastor Gerhard Le Roux, Africa Representative of the South East Asia Prayer Centre from South Africa prayed for Africa.
