He scored the first goal of the World cup, coveting a penalty at the 16th minute to put Ecuador ahead of the hosts, Qatar, during the opening game yesterday Sunday November 20, 2022 at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khol. Ecuador are 44th in the FIFA Rankings while Qatar FIFA are 50th on the rankings.
