African Volleyball Clubs Championship Zone IV : Cameroon Maintains Supremacy

In the men’s category, Port Autonome de Douala has succeeded FAP Yaounde as champions of this year’s edition after beating Volley Club Espoir of DRC (3-1) in Brazzaville recently.

Port Autonome de Douala (PAD) Volleyball Club are the champions of the 8th edition of the African Volleyball Clubs Championship Zone IV that ended recently in Brazzaville, Congo. The Douala-based club beat Volley Club Espoir of the Democratic Republic of Congo 3 sets to 1 on November 20, 2022 to win the competition. PAD Volleyball thus succeeds the Armed Forces and Police (FAP) Volleyball Club of Yaounde that won the two previous editions. This success confirms the supremacy of Cameroon in the competition organised under the auspices of the African Volleyball Confederation.
During the group phase of the competition, Port Volleyball Club showed its superiority by winning all its matches. The team as well continued in winning ways in the knock out phases and qualified for the final. In the final, Port Autonome de Douala succeeded to overpower their opponents and take home the trophy. This will go a long way to boost the morale of the players as they aim for more trophies in the new season.
