Far North : President Biya Assists Ex-Boko Haram Fighters

The National Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee (NDDRC), Fai Yengo Francis handed the gifts in the Committee’s transit Centre in Meri, on November 23, 2022.

The over 2,560 ex-Boko Haram fighters and associates lodged in the National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee (NDDRC) transit Centre in Meri, Diamare Division are beneficiaries of the assistance the National Coordinator Fai Yengo Francis handed on November 23, 2022. Thus was in the presence of the Far North Regional Governor, Midjiyawa Bakari who accompanied him throughout the visit.
The assistance consisted of 10 tricycles, 15 motorcycles, 20 sewing machines, 10 grinding machines, 10 compressors, 10 water pumps among others.   Fai Yengo Francis said he was handing the gifts in the name of President Paul Biya and stated that the Head of State fulfills all what he promises. The gifts, he further said, are to facilitate the stay of the ex-fighters and their reintegration process into society.  Fai Yengo told the ex-fighters that he is a messenger of the Head of State and stressed the fact that President Paul Biya has always said Cameroon is for all its children.  He reminded the ex-fighters that it is the responsibility of all to get out the other people who are still in the bushes.

Construction Of Meme Centre
While still in Meri, Fai Yengo Francis told the ex-fighters that his main mission was to evaluate work at the permanent NDDRC Centre in Meme village. He told them that very soon, they will be at ease.
