Head Coach Rigobert Song has warned his charges no passengers will be tolerated as they prepare to face Serbia this morning in a match that is decisive for their survival.
To stay or to leave! The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will get a clearer picture of their fate at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup when they face Serbia at the Al Janoub Stadium at 13h00 local time (11am Cameroon time). The Lions must at least avoid defeat at all cost to stay in the competition or beat their opponents to keep their chances in tact before their last group game against Brazil.
The importance of today’s game cannot be over emphasized for the Lions after last Thursday’s one nil defeat against Switzerland. To that effect, yesterday’s pre-match training session at the Al Sailiya Sports Club was intense as Head Coach Rigobert Song made clear what he was expecting from the players ahead of the game. Song, an embodiment of fight, spirit and courage told his players to gold all out and give a good account of themselves without any regrets.
The mood in the camp yesterday was pretty much relaxed as compared to the morrow of the Switzerland defeat where it was all moody and gloomy. That day, Rigobert Song spent close to twenty minutes addressing his players as they drew lessons from the Switzerland defeat. Oscillating his tone, Song made it clear he was not happy with the defeat and called on all to step up to the plate. “This is the high level and if you lose concentration, you are punished for that,” Rigobert Song told his players.
For today’s game, Rigobert Song has 25 fully fit players at his disposal as the medical team continues to assess the fitness of Olivier Ntcham who is gradually recovering from a knock as he returned to group training on Friday. He equally warm...
