Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has officially opened a new port near Lagos which could have an economic impact across the West African region. The vast $1.5bn-Lekki Deep Sea Port, which took six years to complete, will serve as a gateway for cargo vessels in the region. It is one of the largest seaports in the country and one of the biggest in West Africa that would revolutionize the way goods are transported and traded in Nigeria.
