CHAN 2022 : Semi-finalists Known

The teams that will play the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022) are now known. They are Algeria, Senegal, Madagascar and Niger. Niger is the last team to qualify after they beat Ghana 2-0 on Saturday January 28, 2023 at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran. Niger’s goals were scored by Imarana Seyni Dan Baro (11th minute) and (Soumana Boubacar Haïnikoye (49th minute). They joined the other three teams in the semi-finals for this year’s edition of the competition. 
Algeria beat Côte d’Ivoire 1-0 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on January 27, 2023 to secure a spot in the semi-finals. Aymens Mahious’ penalty kick helped the Desert Foxes of Algeria to reach the quarterfinals. In the other quarterfinals on the same day, Senegal beat Mauritania 1-0 at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba 1-0 to reach the semi-finals. A penalty converted by Lamine Camara at the 34th gave the Teranag Lions a place in the semifinals.
