MTN Elite Two : Bafut Rangers Carry The Day

Bafut Rangers narrowly edged Tonnerre Kalara Club 2-1 on the 14th day of play yesterday at the Bamemda University Stadium in Bambili. The victory propels them to the 5th or 6th position on the classification table and keeps their dreams alive in their bid to clinch a qualification spot for the MTN Elite One championship. The match was fairly balanced with Tonnerre showing more enthusiasm and dominating play during the first half but got stopped each time by the water-tide defence of the Rangers.
The first goal of the Rangers came in barely five minutes upon resumption of play for the second half through Alain Doligaah who netted in from the edge of the box. The goal galvanised the Rangers as they took ascendancy in the game and would double score two, took minutes later but the header went above the goal post. A few moments later, the Rangers failed again to aggravate score when Boris kicked the ball wide away from the goal post after having dribbled the goalkeeper. However, the salvation goal still came through Boris Fon who took advantage of a goal mouth tussle and slid in goal number two for the Rangers. TKC pulled one goal down barely two minutes after Bafut Ranger aggravated scores. Numerous offensives and counter offensives proved futile as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Bafut Rangers.
