Local Development : NW Regional Assembly, Councils For Partnerships

Local development in every nook and cranny of the North West Region has high prospects of a leap forward should the Regional Assembly and Municipal Councils establish partnerships that will avoid the duplication of projects and ensure the joint planning, programming, budgeting, execution and evaluation of projects. The Mayors of the North West Region should certainly be reflecting on the practical ways of establishing partnerships with the Regional Assembly as the two institutions are conferred the mission of accelerating local development in all its ramifications. The Mayors, gathered under the banner of the North West Regional branch of the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon (UCCC), held their fourth meeting in the Conference hall of the Regional Assembly on March 2-3, 2023. This was under the Chair of the UCCC Regional President, Mayor Denis Awoh Ndang of Fundong Council.
Besides the traditional deliberations on issues affecting the life of the Municipal Councils and the UCCC, what remains to be implemented is the proposal of the partnerships between the North West branch of the UCCC and the Regional Assembly.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the Mayors’ meeting, the President of the North West Regional Assembly, Professor Fru Angwafo III called for work in solidarity and platforms to collaborate.
