Promoting Made in Cameroon : Female Entrepreneurs Encouraged

This was during the exhibition of “Made in Cameroon” produced by women at the GICAM head office in Douala on March 4th.

Women involved in the production and promotion of the “Made in Cameroon” brand have been encouraged to produce more and use the necessary and available platforms to sell their products and their ideas. This was during the opening of a four-day exhibition of “Made in Cameroon” produced by women organised by the Women Entrepreneurship Commission of the GICAM. The event was also an opportunity for authorities of the Women Entrepreneurship Commission of GICAM to launch "The champions of the economy" competition which will involve female entrepreneurs from all 10 regions submitting their projects ideas after which the best will be selected and prizes will be awarded to the best product.
While opening the exhibition in Douala on March 4th the president of the Women Entrepreneurship Commission of GICAM, Mireille Fomekong, said they were organising the event in prelude to the 38th international women’s day to valorise women. For her, it was high time women show to the world what they can produce. She said the exhibition was placed under the theme "Unite to act Together" so as to galvanise women’s efforts and work as a team. She said women have a lot of potentials that the world is yet to discover.
