Quarterfinals Stage Taking Shape

The quarterfinals of the ongoing CAF Champions League are already taking shape. After four playing days, it is easy to determine the first teams that will move on to the quarterfinals stage of the competition. Raja Casablanca of Morocco is the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. They beat Horoya AC of Guinea 3-1 to secure hopes of playing the quarterfinals.  The victory in Guinea maintains Raja’s 100 per cent record and they remain top of Group C with 12 points. 
Elsewhere in Dar es Salaam, hosts Simba SC completed a home and away double over Uganda’s Vipers in the East African Derby, to raise their point tally to six and keep their quarter-finals hopes alive. Zamalek of Egypt beat Esperance of Tunis 3-1 in the first win in the Champions’ League group stage in Alexandria. With the win, the Cairo giants are third in group D with four points.
