Questionable Line-up Strategy

Football loving Cameroonians are yet to believe that their once strong and dreaded national team is becoming an easy bone to chew for any opponent. Seeing the team progress to a trial ground with little or no strategic plan is disheartening for the supporters. Looking at their last two matches against Namibia, the team is still under construction. Above all, the line-up dilemma that is not doing good to the different compartments of play rages on. Moving from a 4-3-3 scheme in the first leg game against Namibia and the 4-2-4 system in the return leg, only further exposed the lapses in the playstyle. The general remark is that Cameroon lacks creativity, inspiration, determination, defensive solidity and above all offensive efficiency. Visibly, there was no game plan put in place to counter the opponent. 

Goalkeeping
Having the back of the Cameroonian net shake thrice in the two outings does not speak well of this compartment. The goal conceded in the first leg is partly blamed on a goalkeeping error. Just like the two in the second leg game. The poor wall placed by the goalkeeper led to the second goal of the return game. Again, barely few good passes were set from this compartment. 

Defence
This compartment has proven not be trustworthy. In the first leg, just like in the second, Coach Rigobert Song wanted his backyard protected. Reason why he lined up a total of four defenders in the two outings. But this did not stop the defensive errors from multiplying. The first goals in the two outings are evidently due to defensive lapses. Lack of effective communication, vigilance and concentration were recurrent. On the sides, the choices did not reassure. Used as pistons, they brought little offensively. With the 4-2-4 scheme, in the second game, play was expected to be constructed from the back and crossed directly to the attack probably through long balls or through the corners. But the output showed the incapacity of the players to deploy the scheme. 

Midfield
