Cricket : New Season Kicks Off

The campus of Lycée Leclerc in Ngoa-Ekelle, Yaounde was the venue of the 2023 Inter-Schools Cricket Bonanza that took place on Saturday April 9, 2023. Organised by the Cameroon Cricket Federation, the event brought together 15 schools from Yaounde and its environs. The schools comprised ten secondary schools and five primary schools which presented teams in both the male and female categories. The inter-schools bonanza equally marked the kick off of the 2023 sports season for cricket in Cameroon. The participants ranged between 9 to 16 years. It was equally an opportunity for the technical staff to detect young talents who will later join the national teams. Last Saturday’s event included other activities like coaching clinics, mini cricket games, youth cricket bonanza and cricket exhibition and didactic matches, among others. 
Speaking at the end of the event, the President of FECACRICKET, Victor Agbor Nso assured that the ongoing season will be full of activities within the federation. He said this year’s opening of season was based on youth cricket. He explained that FECACRICKET has more than 15 development officers, administrators and coaches who go around and do coaching in the country.
