U17 AFCON : Cadet Lions To Continue Training In Tunisia

The national men’s U17 Lions squad will travel to Tunisia on Saturday April 15, 2023 to continue training ahead of the upcoming TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations billed for Algeria. Prior to Saturday’s departure, the players had just resumed training at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre on March 29, 2023 after a short break. The group trains twice a day under the supervision of the team’s technical staff headed by Serge Mimpo in the absence of the head coach, Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala. The technical staff has been reinforced by Coach Bertin Ebwelle of the U15 national team. 
During the training camp, the U17 Lions played three friendly matches with some youth teams in the country. Two of the matches were played at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre and the third was played at the MUNDI Sports Complex in Nsimalen. The Lions beat Musango FC 3-1 in their third game at the MUNDI Sports complex on Tuesday April 11, 2023. Two groups were set up by the technical staff for this game so that each player could have a reasonable playing time. The two teams started the game with a lot of engagement and determination. A goal was scored at the 26th minute by Essono Dipanda for team Cameroon and Musango FC equalised at the 31st minute. The first half ended on a 1-1 tie.
