University Games : Yaounde I Moving Towards Victory

Day six of the ongoing University Games begins this morning and the scout for medals continues. But judging from the trend from the start of the Games, the Yaounde I University is seemingly moving towards being champions. As per the official Olympic standings of May 2, 2023, the University was leading with 28 medals, 11 above second-placed Siantou University Institute. As per the same standings, the University of Yaounde I counted 12 gold medals, eight in silver and eight in bronze while their direct followers Siantou University Institute, counted eight gold, five silver and four bronze. Talking of just the gold medal which carries the highest weight, the University of Yaounde I was as of May 2, 2023, four gold medals above Siantou. Even though the official standing of yesterday May 3, 2023 was not yet available at press time, it is doubted that there could be any major change at the top looking at this gap.
The University of Yaounde I started preparing the ground work right from the beginning. As per the standing of April 30, 2023, the University was top with six gold medals, two silver and one bronze; making it a total of nine medals.
