"The press in Cameroon enjoys relative freedom, though not sufficient security. It is lacking in both physical and social security. Content-wise, the press has come over the initial excitement of newfound freedom of the early 1990s that gave root to relative reckless libertarianism. Consciously or subconsciously, the press has heeded calls for social responsibility, though some degree of authoritarianism may have caused this.
