Coronation of King Charles III : Cameroon Participates At Ceremony

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute led the country’s delegation to the May 6, 2023 historic event in London.

The 62th English Monarch, King Charles III, was on May 6, 2023 crowned in a ceremony attended by over 2,000 invited guests. Amongst them Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, who represented the Head of State at the event. The President of the Republic equally addressed a congratulatory message to King Charles III and Queen Camilla, expressing his availability to further strengthen cooperation ties between Cameroon and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Prior to the coronation, Commonwealth leaders, Prime Minister Dion Ngute included, meeting in the Marlborough House on May 5, 2023 welcomed King Charles III as the new Head of the Commonwealth. 
At the coronation proper which took place at the 700 years Westminster Abbey, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justine Welby conducted the coronation service. The core elements of the service are the recognition, oath, anointing, investiture and crowning, followed by enthronement and homage.
