Diplomacy : Pioneer Namibia Honorary Consul Receives Exequatur

Clotilde Monkam received the recognition from the Governor of the Littoral Region on Thursday, May 11th in Douala.
The Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua, has called on the Namibia Honorary Consul to Douala to work for the interest of the growth of the relationship between Cameroon and Namibia. It was on Thursday, May 11, during a ceremony to hand over the exequatur to Cameroonian-born Clotilde Monkam as Honorary Namibia Consul to Douala- Cameroon.
It is on record that Cameroon and Namibia have entertained friendly ties since July 11, 1990 after which the latter gained independence. The relationship is still at the gestation stage and needs to be enhanced as Namibian designated a High Commissioner to Cameroon with residence in Abuja-Nigeria, who was present at the ceremony in Douala.
Governor Ivaha Diboua emphasized that the creation of a Namibian Consulate in Douala in August 2022 was a clear indication that both countries are willing to foster bilateral relationship. While adding that the opening of the first-ever consulate of Namibia in Douala, the Republic of Cameroon also marks significant progress in the relationship of both countries and a great proof of dynamism and international cooperation.
