Gazelle, Bamboutos : surprise Packages

Gazelle Football Academy of Garoua can be rightly described as the surprise package of the 2022-2023 Elite One championship. When Gazelle climbed up to the Elite One championship, no one could see the team reach the play off stage of the competition. Unlike other green horns in the competition, Gazelle FA of Garoua has been outstanding in all aspects. For a first appearance in the championship, the North Region outfit cruised their way to the play offs to the amazement of their fans. 
Even though a young team, the boys of Coach Alioum Kada won the admiration of all during the season. Gazelle FA won pool B of the championship ahead of Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, beating Bamboutos FC along the way. Gazelle FA intended to keep that form throughout the play offs tournament in Douala. Unfortunately, Gazelle FA could not meet their dream. The Garoua team however crashed before more experienced teams in the play-offs. Gazelle finished the tournament with zero points; three defeats in three matches.  Despite the defeat, Coach Alioum Kada’s team are not only a surprise but a warning signal to other teams next season.
